What does it mean, these days, to be mindful?

What does it mean, these days, to be mindful?

May 22, 2019

It seems somewhat ironic that in this extremely busy life we live, we are constantly told to slow down and enjoy the moment. That can be a challenging thing to do, especially when our time is often dictated by work and kids – making it easier to get lost in the daily grind and lose focus on ourselves!

We agree that it’s not always easy, but mindfulness is a really important concept to implement into your daily routine. Staying focused on the present moment actually reduces stress and increases self and social awareness – you’re more inclined to enjoy everything you do when your mind is more relaxed as you’re less likely to take things for granted.

Mindfulness isn’t limited to meditation. At Swingactive, we find that golf is the perfect outlet to channel mindfulness. 18 holes of golf allows four hours to reset your mind, take time for yourself and focus on something enjoyable outside of your routine. Not only is it great exercise and good for the body – it gets you connected with nature and with people, so it’s good for the soul too!

In four hours, you are presented with a window of opportunity for conversation and connection with other golfers. Walking around the golf course in the fresh air, socialising, with the added mental challenge of the game releases natural mood-enhancing endorphins in your brain that make you feel happier and more relaxed. Not only that, but regular daily walking strengthens the brain’s memory circuits and increases the blood supply – literally giving you a clearer head to think with and making it easier to focus.

You can now go straight from the golf course into your day with our new collection of Swingactive dresses. Multi-tasking at its finest when you eliminate the task of rushing home first before getting a few things done!

Our dresses have been designed with a busy lifestyle in mind to take you from the golf course into your day, without looking like you’ve played 18 holes.
